Four people are missing and one has died after a Panamanian-registered bulk carrier Ultra Vanscoy, operated by Pacific Basin, collided with a fishing boat off Gulei in Fujian yesterday morning.
The fishing boat, carrying eight crew members, sank killing one of the crew.
Three people have been rescued while the remaining four are still being searched for by the local rescue agencies.
The 2013-built bulker’s last known port was Cai Mep its destination being Xiamen, on the southeast coast of the People’s Republic of China.
According to the latest marine traffic data, the vessel is currently anchored around 5 nautical miles from Siming District.
